Workplace Policies

      Hlokomela designs and implements workplace HIV and AIDS policies and  programmes supported by appropriate training interventions:

• Working with farm management to assist in developing a healthier work environment, and to develop and implement workplace wellness policies and programmes that include HIV and AIDS and other life-threatening conditions.
• All 78 sites were monitored and supported with visits for condo can maintenance and replenishments, including high transmission areas such as truck stops, shebeens, taverns, taxi ranks, hotels and lodges in town and hawkers market. Sadly female condoms never meet the demand.
• Farm workers/supervisors/management received Life threatening illness Policy training when introducing their wellness programmes. Pamphlets explaining the Policy were also translated into local languages.
• 7370 IEC pamphlets on various topical interest subjects were distributed during dissemination of information and awareness days in 2011/2012. An additional 4417 materials including Hlokomela booklets, calendars and annual reports were distributed.
